Description/Job Summary

Brooks Instrument, a global manufacturer of flow and pressure measurement and control products for critical applications, and a division of ITW (A Fortune 200 Company) is seeking candidates for an Electro-Mechanical Technician on an 8-month contract basis. This position will be based out of our headquarters location at Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia).  Brooks maintains manufacturing, sales, and service center facilities around the world, and our products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, petro-chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instrumentation, nuclear, and solar cells.                                                                                                                                 

Basic Function

Work within the Software Automation Group to fabricate electro-mechanical equipment for test and calibration in worldwide operations.  Support manufacturing technical issues as deemed necessary by the group supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Fabricate and document electronic control assemblies and test fixtures.
  • Track financial progress against CapEx and report to management.
  • Decipher electronic and mechanical schematics and flow diagrams.
  • Work on assignments may be quite broad in nature, requiring substantial originality and ingenuity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
  • Experience in using basic troubleshooting equipment and mechanical assembly tools.
  • Experience in using software tools such as MS Office. CAD, C# and/or, Labview experience is a plus.
  • Experience in the troubleshooting of electro-mechanical production equipment.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude with the skills to set up and utilize various mechanical and electronic laboratory equipment.
  • Computer skills in the area of networks, peripherals and data acquisition systems.
  • Ability to get along with others in a team environment and to follow all safety procedures.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required / 2 year technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience required.
